Life of a stargazer

featuring Colorfigures

When I’m not speaking code, I like to spend time outdoors. Being active makes me happy. I love to go out in nature, go on hikes, take in and appreciate the beauty of this world, and at night, I love to appreciate the beauty of the night sky. The Big Dipper, Orion’s Belt, UFOs1 (!?)… It’s all so wonderful.

So when I saw a Celestron AstroMaster 70EQ for sale on Facebook Marketplace, I jumped on the opportunity, thus marking the start of my celestial exploration. Coincidentally, I created this telescope graphic prior to my telescope purchase… talk about foreshadowing. Colorfigures is a pretty cool project that I highly suggest taking for a spin (literally, it spins!).

Drag to turn it, press the focus knob, flip See-through to watch the mount work. Made with Colorfigures by April Zhu. · open full screen

Needless to say, the telescope graphic was the first thing I reached for when putting together this site after finally getting tgrecojs.com back in my possession…

I suppose you can say “all of the stars aligned”… 😏

Fingers crossed I will be able to share some beautiful pictures of the night sky in the near future, so if you’re into that sort of thing, then stay tuned, space cadet. 🧑‍🚀

Footnotes

  1. I’m aware that NASA changed the nomenclature regarding UFOs, and now refers to them as UAPs. And I humbly reject this new verbiage. ↩
